Hello and welcome to Sandfire Dragon Ranch. Located in the small town of Bonsall in Northern San Diego County, Sandfire Dragon Ranch takes advantage of the only climate in the United States that is nearly identical to that of the Australian habitat of the bearded dragon. This unique climate allows Sandfire Dragon Ranch to be one of the only facilities in the world with large outdoor breeding enclosures and free-range dragon populations.
Nobody in the United States and very few people in the world have been breeding and working with bearded dragons as long as Sandfire Dragon Ranch. With a legitimate and easily verifiable more than 30 years in the business, Sandfire Dragon Ranch is both a pioneer of herpetoculture and a grandfather to it.
Founded as Sandfire Dragon Ranch in 1993 by Robert Mailloux, our company has its roots in virtually every colored dragon in the world. While there are those who chose to change names or name various colored dragons after themselves, most if not all of those animals can trace their heritage back to our Ranch.
While we are proud of our namesake, we are equally proud of the fact that we have been working with and breeding a multitude of frog species in addition to our bearded dragons. Most of the popular pet frogs, including the ubiquitous White’s tree frog, are bred in large numbers at our facility. Many species rarely seen outside of their native habitats have been bred at our facility. Primarily through the efforts of Robert Mailloux, Sandfire Dragon Ranch continues to be a leader in captive amphibian breeding.
